The Ring is Finally Here!

We just got back from Hawaii Wednesday. Stay tuned for lots of pictures from our trip. We arrived back to the apt to find a note on the door telling us we had a package. We were under the impression they would try again to deliver it today because yesterday was a holiday. We were wrong. Mirav found the mailman at 4:30 and asked about the package. He said it was still at the post office and they would be closing at 5:00 and wouldn't re-open until Monday. Unfortunately, My car has a dead battery and I have Mirav's car today. So Mirav, car-less yet determined, rounded up the dogs and beat feet to the post office. She covered the mile between her and her ring, on foot, in less than 15 minutes.

The ring was in a velvet box, which was in a small black cardboard box, which was in a small mailing box, which was in a large mailing box.

This is the antique ring we based our design on. Mirav found it online. It's an Art Deco ring circa 1920's. She fell in love with it, but it was sold already. So we had it re-created.

This is our ring. I'd say London Gold nailed the design. You can't tell from the picture, but it's outrageously sparkly. Mirav is looking forward to showing everyone in person.
